| Waterarchitect van Bueren specializes in both architecture and technology for floating buildings. Our vision of the company is embodied in the Dutch heritage of Deltatechnology, an environmentally-aware approach and real Dutch architecture. Our company has a proactive attitude with its innovative concepts towards the emerging market of floating buildings. We use two approaches to explore and expand our business. First, we provide specialized technical consultancy for floating buildings. Clients are both architects and project developers. Second, as architects, we can also provide general creative consulting. This goes from a houseboat design up to a concept like the floating city. Projects: Recently, we developed a patented system for a low-cost floating foundation, a product which we will be useful for designers of floating greenhouses, parking lots, boulevards and sport facilities. This system can be used in floodlands next to rivers or continuous floating on lakes. Also promising is our research and development of a small floating village. Besides being floodproof, people will really be able to enjoy the unique experience of living on the water. Background: Waterarchitect van Bueren is established in 2008 by ir. Bart van Bueren. Mr. Van Bueren completed his studies at the Delft University of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology with two MSc degrees in Architecture and Building Technology, both cum Laude. In 2006, Mr. van Bueren became famous for designing the Floating City-concept, his visions have been published around the world. Also the Floating Pavilion design was praised by the WorldExpo 2010 Committee in Shanghai. This design was enormously influential. Since Mr. van Bueren presented his novel idea, the city of Rotterdam has realized a smaller version alike as the very spearhead for climate adaptation. It is Al Gore who made the project as an Icon of Climate Adaptation. In addition. Mr. van Bueren was awarded as Young Technical Professional of the year ’08-’09 in the Netherlands by NLengineers. |
